City of Gem Lake City Council Meeting minutes, November 15, 2016 Page 1 <br /> <br />City of Gem Lake <br /> City Council Meeting – November 15, 2016 <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Uzpen called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. Councilmembers Artig-Swomley, Bosak and <br />Lindner were present. Councilmember Kuny was excused. Others in attendance: Ben Johnson, <br />Planning Commission Chair, Angie Calderon, Joseph Corado, Alejandro Ruiz, High Tech Auto, Tom Kelly, <br />Finance Director. <br /> <br />November 15, 2016, Agenda <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, seconded by Councilmember Bosak to approve <br />the agenda for November 15, 2016, motion passed. Agenda approved. <br /> <br />Minutes <br />Councilmember Artig-Swomley made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Lindner to approve the <br />minutes for October 18, 2016, motion passed. Minutes approved. <br /> <br />Committee Reports <br />Ben Johnson, Planning Commission chair presented an overview of the November 1, 2016, Planning <br />Commission meeting. The commission reviewed ordinance 124B Deer hunting. The commission asked <br />for clarification on two items; adding 50 more feet to the deer stand distance and even number year <br />hunts. Commission was opposed to the even number year hunts. <br /> <br />Old Business <br />Newsletter ideas – final budget, election results, recycling article, cert program, food shelf donation bin <br />at City Hall, winter parking, Millie LaBathe passing, request for Planning Commission members and <br />underpass open under 35E at Goose Lake Road. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br />2017 City Budget <br />Tom Kelly, Finance Director, White Bear Township, presented an overview of the City of Gem Lake’s <br />2017 budget. Mayor Uzpen opened the public hearing at 7:44 p.m., no comments were received, the <br />public hearing closed at 7:46 p.m. <br /> <br />New Business <br /> <br />Resolution 2016-15 2017 Adopting the Final General Fund Budget and Final Amount to be raised by <br />property taxation for the Year 2017 <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Bosak, seconded by Councilmember Lindner to approve <br />Resolution 2016-17 Final General Fund Budget and Final Amount to be raised by Property Taxation for <br />the Year 2017. A voice vote was taken, 4 yes, 0 no. Motion passed. Resolution approved. <br /> <br />Resolution 2016-16 Reducing Tax Levy Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 475.61 <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Artig-Swomley, seconded by Councilmember Bosak to approve <br />Resolution 2016-16 Reducing Tax Levy Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 475.61, a voice vote was <br />taken, 4 yes, 0 no, motion passed. Resolution approved.
