WHEREAS, the. Country Lounge has applied for renewal of. their Retail Tobacco Products
Resellers Licenses for the period 1/1/09'thru 1/1/10, and;
WHEREAS, said applicant has been similarly licensed in prior years in:.the city of Gem Lake; and
WHEREAS., the applicant has operated the establishment withoutincident during 2008,and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has enacted legislation, reference Chapter 227/HF117
requiring local units of government to establish or update: local ordinances regulating retail
tobacco sales and providing for compliance checks, the cost of which shall be borne by the
licensee, and
WHEREAS, `the City has a Tobacco Compliance Ordinance. No. 58 which became effective 28
February 1998,
NOW THEREFORE BE iT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Gem Lake, Ramsey:
County, Minnesota hereby approves renewal of the Retail Tobacco Products resellers License for
the period 01 January 2009 thru 01 January 2010, and
BE iT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City retains the right of revocation at any time in the event.of
violation of.State-Laws or City Ordinances regarding the retail sale of tobacco products.
The foregoing Resolution was offered by Council Member and was supported by
Council Member and was declared adopted based upon the following
vote.
