Each will serve a four year term. <br /> <br />Jim has served on the Council since 2008. Prior to <br />that, he had spent 10 years on the Gem Lake <br />Planning Commission, including several years as <br />Chairman. Jim has served on the Vadnais Lakes Area <br />Water Management Organization (VLAWMO) for 14 <br />years, and is now the Chairman. <br /> <br />Len was first elected to the City Council in 2018. At <br />the time, he was serving on the council already, <br />having been appointed to fill a vacated position. Len <br />also has experience serving on the Gem Lake <br />Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Both council members will be sworn in at the January <br />17 City Council Meeting. <br /> Jim Lindner <br /> <br /> Len Cacioppo <br />2023 Gem Lake Budget Approved <br /> <br />The Gem Lake City Council approved the city’s 2023 <br />General Fund Budget and Property Tax Levy at the <br />December 21 City Council Meeting. The 2023 Budget <br />for expenditures is $674,829, which is a 29.10% <br />increase from the 2022 budget. <br /> <br />Major or large changes from 2022 to 2023 are as <br />follows: <br /> <br />• Based on the 2015 Refunding Bond Schedule, the <br />debt levy for 2023 is set for $77,873. In addition, <br />in 2018, the City issued bonds for improvements <br />on Scheuneman Road and the debt levy for this is <br />$6,545. The two of these levies, makes up the <br />city’s 2023 Debt Levy of $84,418.
