He grew <br />up in Maplewood and went on to obtain a BA in <br />History from the University of Minnesota and a <br />Masters in American Colonial History from the <br />University of Wisconsin at River Falls. <br /> <br />Jim has worked in the field of facilities management <br />for over 40 years, for such organizations as the <br />University of Minnesota, Washington County, Cardiac <br />Pacemakers and Ecumen. He is now semi-retired and <br />working part-time as a delivery driver. <br /> <br />So, what has he done for Gem Lake? Plenty. Jim <br />served on the city’s planning commission for ten <br />years, from 1998-2008. The last three of those years, <br />(continued on page 2) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Jim Lindner: Serving Gem Lake since 1998 <br /> <br />Hoffman Road Project to Start Soon <br />The resurfacing of Hoffman Road from Highway 61 <br />to County Road E, will start sometime this Spring, <br />probably around May, according to City Engineer <br />Justin Gese. <br /> <br />Bids for the road construction project are due on <br />March 19 and a contractor is expected to be <br />finalized by April. <br /> <br />The project is expected to take between 2-3 <br />weeks, depending upon contractor availability, <br />weather, etc. No disruption to businesses in the <br />area is anticipated. <br /> <br />Planning for the project began last year when an <br />engineering study was done to evaluate options for <br />bring the road up to satisfactory standards. The <br />street has been in need of TLC for a while. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
