City of Gem Lake <br />County of Ramsey <br />State of Minnesota <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2025-009 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GEM LAKE ADOPTING THE 2025 RAMSEY <br />COUNTY HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Gem Lake recognizes the threat that natural hazards pose to people and <br />property within the City of Gem Lake; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County has prepared a multi-hazard mitigation plan, hereby known as the <br />2025 Ramsey County Hazard Mitigation Plan in accordance with federal laws, including the <br />Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, as amended; the National <br />Flood Insurance Act of 1968, as amended; and the National Dam Safety Program Act, as <br />amended; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 2025 Ramsey County Hazard Mitigation Plan identifies mitigation goals and <br />actions to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property in the City of Gem Lake <br />from the impacts of future hazards and disasters; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, adoption by the City of Gem Lake demonstrates its commitment to hazard <br />mitigation and achieving the goals outlined in the 2025 Ramsey County Hazard Mitigation Plan. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City of Gem Lake, Minnesota, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. In accordance with (local rule for adopting resolutions), the City of Gem Lake adopts <br />the 2025 Ramsey County Hazard Mitigation Plan. While content related to (local government) <br />may require revisions to meet the plan approval requirements, changes occurring after adoption <br />will not require (local government) to re-adopt any further iterations of the plan. Subsequent plan <br />updates following the approval period for this plan will require separate adoption resolutions. <br /> <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly introduced by Councilmember <br />Lindner and supported by Councilmember Cacioppo, and upon vote being taken thereon, the <br />resolution passed with a vote of 5 in favor and 0 against. <br /> <br />ATTEST <br /> <br />I, Melissa Lawrence, the duly qualified Acting City Clerk of the City of Gem Lake, County of <br />Ramsey, State of Minnesota, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution is a true and <br />accurate representation of action taken by the City Council of the City of Gem Lake on the date <br />first written. <br /> <br /> Melissa Lawrence March 18, 2025 <br />Melissa Lawrence, Acting City Clerk Date <br />
