City of Gem Lake, MN <br />Resolution No. 2022-008 <br />April 19, 2022 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION FUNDING THE GEM LAKE SCHOLARSHIP AND AWARDING THE SCHOLARSHIP <br />TO <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Gem Lake participates in the distribution of charitable gambling funds received from the <br />Country Lounge <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Gem Lake distributes these funds to local 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations and the <br />City’s own Scholarship fund, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Gem Lake created a scholarship for the year 2022, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Gem Lake awards, Owen J. Varley said scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Treasurer is authorized to send Saint John’s University a <br />check in the amount of $1,000.00. <br /> <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly introduced by Councilmember Lindner and seconded <br />by Councilmember Cacioppo, and upon vote being taken thereon, the resolution passed with a vote of 5 in favor and <br />0 against. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST <br /> <br />I, Melissa Lawrence, the duly qualified Acting City Clerk of the City of Gem Lake, County of Ramsey, State of <br />Minnesota, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution is a true and accurate representation of action taken by <br />the City Council of the City of Gem Lake on the date first written. <br /> <br /> <br />Melissa Lawrence April 19, 2022 <br />Melissa Lawrence, Acting City Clerk Date <br />
