ONE HUNDREDTH MEETING - VILLAGE OF GEM LAKE COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 19th, 1967 - HOFFMANS CORNERS HALL <br />1. THE MAJOR CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 8:15 PM <br />2. THE CLERK CALLED THE ROLL - <br />PRESENT - Hoffman, Bigelow, Arcand and Morgan <br />ABSENT - Wad& . <br />Also present Bemis, Chairman of the planning committee and <br />Wild member of th&s committee and R. Hansen and C. Scheuneman. <br />3. THE CLERK READ THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING HELD <br />NOVEYBER 22nd 1967. At the request of R. Hansen a deletion <br />was made from the minutes being the sentence starting with <br />the word NOTE under item #5, Reports of Committees, sub itle <br />"b".The last sentence remi$ns . Moved by Arcand and seconded <br />by Bigelow that the minutes be and hereby are approved as corrected. <br />all ayes. <br />4. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLODR : <br />a. The Mayor read a letter from Mrs. John Gray complaining <br />about the concrete blocks on the lot adj4cent to them on <br />the west which blocks 4ave been there for at least two <br />years. ?he Mayor said he would call the owner. <br />5. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES . <br />a. Mr. Bemis, chairman of the planning committe'review$d his letter <br />of November 15th to the council with respect to the three <br />requests for re -zoning. He pointed out that it was the duty <br />of his committee to do its best to represent the interests of <br />all the residents of the village, and he emphasised the fact <br />that no particular land uses had been proposed with the <br />requests. The members of the council referred to the minutes <br />of the November 22nd meeting pointing out that they had <br />referred the re -zoning; requests back to the planning committee <br />with the " recommendation that the corn,-nittee consider granting <br />a re -zoning from LB to GB for the area bounded -on the West <br />by Highway #61, on the East by Scheuneman Roads on the South <br />by the Hoffman -Chrysler property and on the North by the <br />junction of Highway #61 and Scheuneman Road". There appeared <br />to be s-ame difference of opinion or misunderstanding as to the action <br />of the council but it was cleared up by the following resolut- <br />ion. ._ <br />Hoffma_rid moved and Mor an seconded that the above recommedd- <br />ation for re -zoning together with the three original requests <br />,6b be referred back to the planning committee for consideration <br />and consultation with Midwest Planning & Research Inc, to <br />hold hearings, %hich may be either public or private and then <br />make a final recommendation to the council as soon as possible. <br />P11 ayes. <br />b. The chairman of the pplanning committee requestdO the cothncil <br />to take some action_ on the White Bear Cheese Shop sign which <br />is in violation of the Zoning Ordinance #5. There was some <br />question as to who owns the sign. The clerk was instructed <br />
