DECEMBER 19th, 1967 - HOFFMANS CORNERS HALL
1. THE MAJOR CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 8:15 PM
2. THE CLERK CALLED THE ROLL -
PRESENT - Hoffman, Bigelow, Arcand and Morgan
ABSENT - Wad& .
Also present Bemis, Chairman of the planning committee and
Wild member of th&s committee and R. Hansen and C. Scheuneman.
3. THE CLERK READ THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING HELD
NOVEYBER 22nd 1967. At the request of R. Hansen a deletion
was made from the minutes being the sentence starting with
the word NOTE under item #5, Reports of Committees, sub itle
"b".The last sentence remi$ns . Moved by Arcand and seconded
by Bigelow that the minutes be and hereby are approved as corrected.

4. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLODR :
a. The Mayor read a letter from Mrs. John Gray complaining
about the concrete blocks on the lot adj4cent to them on
the west which blocks 4ave been there for at least two
years. ?he Mayor said he would call the owner.
5. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES .
a. Mr. Bemis, chairman of the planning committe'review$d his letter
of November 15th to the council with respect to the three
requests for re -zoning. He pointed out that it was the duty
of his committee to do its best to represent the interests of
all the residents of the village, and he emphasised the fact
that no particular land uses had been proposed with the
requests. The members of the council referred to the minutes
of the November 22nd meeting pointing out that they had
referred the re -zoning; requests back to the planning committee
with the " recommendation that the corn,-nittee consider granting
a re -zoning from LB to GB for the area bounded -on the West
by Highway #61, on the East by Scheuneman Roads on the South
by the Hoffman -Chrysler property and on the North by the
junction of Highway #61 and Scheuneman Road". There appeared
to be s-ame difference of opinion or misunderstanding as to the action
of the council but it was cleared up by the following resolut-
ion. ._
Hoffma_rid moved and Mor an seconded that the above recommedd-
ation for re -zoning together with the three original requests
,6b be referred back to the planning committee for consideration
and consultation with Midwest Planning & Research Inc, to
hold hearings, %hich may be either public or private and then
make a final recommendation to the council as soon as possible.

b. The chairman of the pplanning committee requestdO the cothncil
to take some action_ on the White Bear Cheese Shop sign which
is in violation of the Zoning Ordinance #5. There was some
question as to who owns the sign. The clerk was instructed

to look into the matter.
Note: The Clerk called on 1-r. Winterstein owner of the Cheese
Shop and had a 11leasant chat with him. He will gladly
remove the sign when the ground thaws out this spring.
6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS -
7. NEW BUSINESS -
a. John L. Ward subnlitted his resignation as treasurer to
take effect on December 31st 1967, because he has become
a trustee and should not hold the two jobs. The Council
accepted the resignation as .roved by Bigelow and seconded
by Arcand. All ayes
The Council then appolted Victor J. Knutson as treasurer
to serve the unexpired term of John Ward to December 31st
196Q .
b. At the request of John MR rg an, Clerk,the council also
appointed Victor J. Knutson "deputy clerk" tong assist
Morgan with his duties and serve in his absence.
8. REPORTS OF VILLAGE OFFICERS -
a. The clerk roported that his balance at this time was
4 980.66 and that the village can expeXt to receive tax
monies in December of about �1,700 which would give us
a balance at the end of the year of about 42,700. The
Village has savings certificates for P9000 plus interests
in the White Beat Bank.
b. Bills authorized were :-
City of White Bear Lake - December fire # 704 75.00
Municipal Court - November expense $05 57.42
St. Paul Dispatch - weed notice 706 8.76
Keith Ackerman -building inspector 707 413.25

9. THE MEETING ADJOURNED AT 9:50 FM - Moved by Arcand and
seconded by Morgan - All ayes.
