Mayor Uzpen called for acceptance of January .20, 2015, City Council agenda. Motion made by
Councilmember Artig=Swomley, seconded by Councilmember Bosak. The 'agenda was approved by.5-0
vote.
December City Council meeting minutes
Upon -a motion made by Councilmember Artig-Swomley,.seconded by Councilmember Lindner,
December City Council meeting minutes were approved 5-0 with no corrections and/or additions.
Committee reports
No Committee reports. The Planning Commission did meet in January, however no*qu&um was*present.

Newsletter - Councilmember Artig-Swomleyanticipates having Gem Lake News:tlone by the middle of
next week. Feature article will* be *newly hired file clerk/receptionist, Ms. Gloria Tessier. Additional items
forthe newslettee,*HIlia ry Farm build out, Water Feasibility Study, liquor license approvals-and.City.of.Gem
Lake-goais: An article was to be written about.the death of -a Gem. Lake.residents'.son, hoW6verthefamlly
-doesn't-feel ready to address. it at this -time. Councilmember Lindner recently attended an open house.on
the -Rush -line Corridor and agreed to write a. summary of the meeting for the newsletter. Councilmember
Artig-Swomley asked CoundImember .Lindner to provide an.update on the power line installation for the
.newsletter. Councilmember Lind neragreed.
CouncilmemberArdg-Swomley on*behalf of theCity Council, thanked Councilmember. Lind nerfor*his past
minute taking -for the City Council. Future minutes will be done'by Ms: Tessier.
In light of Councilmeniber-Lindner's attend nceat the Rush Line Corridor, Mayor Uzpen.asked City ClerkWilliam.ShorOfthe.CityofGem:Lakeshould be. drafting an ordinance in regardsto�transportation. It was
agreed that Mayor Wpenwill check wit} the City Attorney in regard to.an ordinance.

The special Gem cake City CoUncil.rn¢eting was called to order by acting mayor Artig-Swomley at 7:00
P.M.
Roll call: Artig-Swomley, Lindner, kuny, Bosak•prgsent. Uzpen, absent. City Attorney, Patrick. Kelly.
Approval of the agenda:.
Upon motion by Linder and seconded by Lindner, the agenda was approved *by a vote of 4-0.

Artig-Swomley invited the courrcil.tocomment ahthe: non -conforming use permit — Barnett
Properties/Jack *Mayeron for Newtrax, PAIR Merrick Inc. The council agreed they liked the idea of a
60 month effective permit. Comments were then invited from the. public.
Mike Greenbaum; Newtrax, thanked the City Council and the Plainnifig Ceramission far their
accommodations. Mr. Greenbaum pointed out that Newtrax:is a member organization and requested
that the. Non-ConformingU4e Permit state. Newtrax and its Member Organizations. Mr. Jack Mayeron
said this was not a :retail operation, they would only be doing maintenance on Newtrax and their
morriber organization vehicles. Public comm6ms were then tlosed.
Upon.motion by Lindner, Seconded byKunWthe permit was adjusted to be. Newtrax and its member
organizations,. item I Changed to: Oermit.is effective February 1, 2015, item 4. Changed.to:. Permit
shall expire on January 31,. 2020...
Acting. Mayor Artig-Swomley welcomed Newtrax-to-Gera Lake and requested featuring their ItiLusinest1n
a future issue of Gem Lake News.

Being there. no further business, following a motion by Lindner, seconded by Artig-Swomley, acting
mayor Artig-Swomley adjourned the meeting at 7:11 after a vote of 4-0.
