CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP MINUTES
14 AUGUST 2006
The August 2006.City Council Workshop was called to order by Mayor Emeott at 7:0OPM. Mayor Emeott. Thanked
thosein attendance for participating in this evenings workshop noting input front the community will enhance these
efforts as time passes. Although a general agenda has been prepared, noformal agenda will be used and, thus, no agenda
approval will be necessary. Those present were encouraged to participate and, to the extent time allows, hopefully all
will be heard.
Brief staff and councilor. reports on eiectioris, meeting scliedule.revisions, website development; public relations,
"36 Point List", City Limit Signs,.Joint• City Hall Project, 2008 Comprehensive Municipal Plan and the.pending
developments of the Ilansen. and.H.offman Corners .areas followed.
Mayor Emeott: then indicated that education is. one of the key elements.. of the. City Council workshops and .this
evenings presentations are designed.to assist both the City Council: and. PlanningCorrimission in working on current and
pending projects With a greaterunderstanding of outcontebasedprocesses. City Attorney Patrick Kelly and his associate
Dave.Ramberg were then introduced: and a.presentation on the annexation: process followed by apresentation on Planned
Unit Developments (PUDs:}were given. Questions and answers were interspersed with the presentations. Mayor Emeott
thanked fMr..Kelly and Mr. Ramberg for their informative presentation.
Discussion of vvebsite content followed with many suggestions offered for consideration. Additional discussion of
proactive efforts with the City of Vadnais Heights followed although the effort was shortened by the need to adjourn in
consideration ofTousley's closing schedule.
Mayor Emeott then thanked those in attendance for coming andadjournedthe workshopat 9:15PM.
