MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP
05 DECEMBER 2005
Having been properly published in the White Bear Press on 30 November 2005 as Public Notice No, 2005-24, a
Joint Workshop of the. City Council of the City of Gem Lakeand the PlanningCoinmission of Gem Lake was called to
order by Mayor Emeott on Monday; 05 December 2005, at 6:1.5 PM in the board room of The Nexen Group, 560: Oak
Grove Parkway, Vadnais Heights, MN 551 10Mayor Eineott, Councilors Bosak,. Watson and Rasmussen were. present.
Chairman Floeschler,Mrs. Robins and Messrs. Lindner, Wippich and Rafferty of the Planning Commission were also
present. Also present were .City Clerk Magnuson as recording secretary For a portion of the meeting, Brian Hansen and
Mr, McNulty accompaniedby his team of advisors were present.
Mr..l-loesctiler. delivered a report regarding progress to date on resolving the Hillary Farm :issues and thoughts on
future commercial development.
Mr. Magnuson distributed a copy of his Excel email to all present which included final revisions of ail categories
identified at the first meetings, He suggested they discuss all projects to determine additional needs and priority i.'ormat..
Discussion of priorities followed. An updated final version will be sent with minutes.
Magnuson updated his report on the. Joint Town Hall Project with White Bear Township indicating it is now time
to begin meeting with Township representatives Mamnple and Short.
Continued discussion of redevelopment ofHoffman .Corners :followed and this continuesto be the nuinber i. priority
For all inattendance as it is: clearly a.blight and under utilization 1 nit's current form. Magnusonreported Birkeland.and
Wa]doch have expressed a desire to work with the City to maximize: thereturn on their real estate and deliver a City
favored project.
Following discussion; the nextworkshop will be scheduled in January, perhaps at the Planning Commissionmeeting
on 03 January2006..Mayor Emeott thanked all for coining andexpressedhis thanks to Mr. Schilling in absentia for
hosting the meeting.
There being no further business, Mayor Emeott declared the proceedings adjourned at $45 pm.
