GARDNER 1399 EAST COUNTY ROAD E GEM LAKE, MINNESOTA 55110 June 30, 1993 Mr. Paul Emeott 3960 Scheuneman Road Gem Lake, MN 55110 Dear Paul: The Gem Lake Planning Commission met Thursday, June 24, 1993 at 5:00 p.m. at Tousley Ford. Present were Gardner, Bemis, & Leider. Dick Hiniker had requested the meeting to discuss the landscaping agreement, and the positioning of the new entrance sign. Both Tom Bennett and Ron Glassman, owners, were also present. Tousley wishes to postpone completion of part of the landscaping project as they are currently moving toward a final plan for the new property. The Commission agreed to defer completion of the landscaping in front of the pole barn, and to allow the temporary sales office to remain in place, until August 24th, at which time Tousley will have a definitive plan for the property. Tousley also submitted a different design concept for the planters to surround the light posts. The Commission agreed to revise the landscaping agreement to include this new design, and to limit the number of planters required to the poles along County Road E which are visible from the street. Also, Tousley agreed to plant 7 additional trees in the boulevard. The planting is otherwise substantially complete, except for sod. The entrance sign will be located in the median strip in the new entrance way. Tousley may apply for a variance to allow the sign to extend to within 18 1/2 feet of the curb, but if not, the sign must not extend beyond 27 1/2 feet (approx) from the curb; the difference being the approximate 9 feet of road right-of-way being used for the 20' setback. Respectful submitted, David Gardner, Chairman Gem/Lake Planning Commission cc: Planning Commission Magnuson Noble Hiniker
