THE ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTH I,iEETING - VILLAGE OF GEM LAKE
COUNCIL - JUNE 18th, 1968 - HOFFMANS CORNERS TALL
1. THE MAYOR CALLED THE YEETING TO ORDER AT 8:16 PM
2. THE CLERK CALLED THE ROLL -
PRESENT - Hoffman, Bigelow, Arcand,Morgan and Knutson.
ABSENT - Ward.
Also present Ed Dwyer, Joe McGinnis, Ulrich.
3. THE CLERK READ THE MINUTES OF THE OREVIOUS I -FETING HELD
MAY 21st 1968 - Moved by Bigelow and seconded by Hoffman
that the same be approved as read . All ayes.
4. PRESENTATIONS FROM THE FLOOR - none
5. REPORTS OF COMT•iITTEES -
a. Henry Hoffman and Vic Knutson attended a small sewer
meeting with VadnlAs Heights and Little Canada and the
Township. It appears from Knutson's report that Vadnais
b,bok securer a Federal grant to pay for partof a 42 inch
sewer line th ich will be large enough to take care of
all Villages to the north for many years. We are asked to
declare our intent to become a part of this overall plan
which appears to be called the Ashb rook-Ashback plan.
Carley is to find out what this uill cost us and how it
can be allocated.
Hoffman moved and Bigelow seconded "That it is the intent
the Village of Gem Lake to join with Vadndls H&Ights, Little
Canada and others !x in the plan to bring sewer to this area".
All ayes.
Morgan stated that Carley had informed him that he would
have the information shortly and that we would then call a spe-
cial meeting of the council to consIde r it.
Hoffman suggested that we use Fred Memmer as our attorney
because he is thoroughly familiar with the whole thing. Morgan
felt it would be wise to ask Butler if this was a good idea., xr-
and will do so.

7. NEW BUSINESS - Morgan reported regarding the plan to have
John Skrypek of the Conservation department take a l6ok
at Gem Lake and advise regarding the growth of weeds etc.
