<br />Extract of Minutes of Meeting <br />of City Council <br />City of Roseville <br /> <br />Held: February 14, 1983 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly held in the City <br />Hall in said City on Monday, the 14th day of February, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Curley, Franke, Johnson, Kehr, and Demos. <br /> <br />and, the following members were absent: <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Member Curley <br />adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved its <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. --Z1]5 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING <br />DNR METRO REGION OFFICE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville works closely with the DNR Metro Region <br />Office to plan and implement proper management of the natural resources <br />that are located within this City, and this cooperative effort could not <br />be continued effectively from an outstate DNR facility; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has many fishing/hunting related businesses <br />that contribute to our economy, as well as a large number of anglers, <br />hunters, and other outdoor sports enthusiasts who regularly utilize the <br />services of the DNR Metro Region Office, and who could not be served <br />effectively from an outstate DNR facility; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it now appears that closing the DNR Metro Office and transferring <br />its functions to an outstate DNR facility, will not in any event accomplish <br />the cost reduction that was the legislative intent of HI" 2190 (Laws of <br />Minnesota for 1982, Ch. 641, Art. 1, Sec. 2, Subd. 1, item f), but would <br />instead diminish the services available to the City of Roseville and its <br />residents; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Roseville <br />is opposed to closing the DNR Metro Region Office, and requests that the <br />Minnesota Legislature adopt legislation enabling the continuation of the <br />present regional structure of the Department of Natural Resources. <br />
