<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />HELD JUNE 13, 1983 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 7513 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly held at the City <br />Hall in said City on the 13th day of June, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br /> <br />Keh r, J alms on, Franke, and Demos <br /> <br />and, the following were absent: <br /> <br />Curley <br /> <br />Member Kehr <br /> <br />and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution <br /> <br />RESOLUTION FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR <br />PEACE OFFICER CONTINUING EDUCATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on January 1, 1982, the State of Minnesota began collecting money <br />from a ten percent surcharge on all traffic offenses, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, from this penalty assessment money, the POST Board has been <br />appropriated $900,000 to be used as reimbursement to local units of <br />government to offset the cost of providing continuing education to <br />Peace Officers and Constables, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, each unit of local government must apply for its share of the funds, <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the chief law enforcement officer of the agency and an officer other <br />than the chief law enforcement officer, designated by resolution of the <br />governing body, must sign the application form, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Manager be designated as the <br />signatory on the application for continuing education reimbursement funds. <br />
