EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA - HELD JANUARY 9, 1984 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly called and held at the City Hall in said City on the 9th day of January, 1984, at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Kehr, Curley, Johnson, Frmlke, and Demos. and, the following members were absent: None. Member Franke introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 7579 RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE SIGNING OF A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN METROPOLITAN SUBURBAN CITIES AND ESTABLISHING A MUNICIPAL LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION WHEREAS, the City of Roseville and certain other metropoli tan suburban cities are municipal corporations and political subdivisions of the State of Minnesota; and WHEREAS, each city may jointly exercise common authority by adopting a joint powers agreement pursuant to M.S.A. 471.59; and WHEREAS, by means of a joint powers agreement, the cities may establish an organization to further and protect thei r common interests before other governmental agencies; and WHEREAS, such organization is to be identified as the !.1unicipal Legislative Commissi on. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Rosevi lIe approves the joint powers agreement with certain other metropolitan cities to establish the Municipal Legislative Commission, and BE IT FURTIIER RESOLVED that the City Manager and Hayor are authorized to sign said agreement on behalf of the City of Roseville. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Curley, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted 1n favor: All present. and, the following voted against: None.
