<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA - HELD <br />JANUARY 9, 1984 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly called and held at the <br />City Hall in said City on the 9th day of January, 1984, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Kehr, Curley, Johnson, Frmlke, and <br />Demos. <br /> <br />and, the following members were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Franke introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 7579 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE SIGNING OF <br />A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN METROPOLITAN SUBURBAN CITIES AND <br />ESTABLISHING A MUNICIPAL LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville and certain other metropoli tan suburban <br />cities are municipal corporations and political subdivisions of the State of <br />Minnesota; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, each city may jointly exercise common authority by adopting a <br />joint powers agreement pursuant to M.S.A. 471.59; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by means of a joint powers agreement, the cities may establish <br />an organization to further and protect thei r common interests before other <br />governmental agencies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such organization is to be identified as the !.1unicipal Legislative <br />Commissi on. <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Rosevi lIe approves the joint <br />powers agreement with certain other metropolitan cities to establish the <br />Municipal Legislative Commission, and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTIIER RESOLVED that the City Manager and Hayor are authorized to <br />sign said agreement on behalf of the City of Roseville. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded <br />by member Curley, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted <br />1n favor: All present. <br /> <br />and, the following voted against: None. <br />
