<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA - HELD <br />JANUARY 23, 1984 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council <br />of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly called and held at the City Hall <br />in said City on the 23rd day of January, 1984, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br /> <br />Kehr, Curley, Johnson, Franke, and Demos. <br /> <br />and, the following members were absent: None <br /> <br />Member <br /> <br />Kehr <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 7581 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF APPLICANT AUTHORIZING FILING OF APPLICATION <br />AND EXECUTION OF GRANT PROJECT AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE AND <br />DEVELOP OPEN SPACE UNDER THE PROVISION OF THE FEDERAL LAND <br />AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND ACT AND THE STATE NATURAL RESOURCE <br />F~D <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act and the State Natural Resources <br />Fund provides for the making of grants to assist local public bodies in the <br />acquisition and development of outdoor recreation projects, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville desires to acquire certain land known as Langton <br />Lake Park, which land is to be held and used for permanent open space, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order for the proposed project to be eligible for approval, there <br />must be proof that it is part of a comprehensive outdoor recreation plan and <br />5-year action program (capital improvement), and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has an original (or revised) 5-year action program <br />which includes Langton Lake Park, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is estimated that the cost of acquiring said interest(s) shall be <br />$42,855.00, and <br /> <br />MIEREAS, upon project approval, the City of Roseville must enter into formal <br />grant project agreements with the State for the specific purpose of acquiring <br />and developing Langton Lake Park. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE: <br /> <br />1) That an application be made to the State of Minnesota, Department of <br />Energy and Economic Development, Parks and Recreation Grants Unit for a <br />grant from the Natural Resource Fund (Minnesota Laws, 1983, Chapter 301, <br />Section 31, Subdivision 5, paragraph (b)) for an amount presently estimated <br />at $21,427.50, and the applicant will pay the balance of the cost from other <br />funds available to it. <br />
