EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA - HELD JANUARY 23, 1984 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly called and held at the City Hall in said City on the 23rd day of January, 1984, at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Kehr, Curley, Johnson, Franke, and Demos. and, the following members were absent: None Member Kehr introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 7581 RESOLUTION OF APPLICANT AUTHORIZING FILING OF APPLICATION AND EXECUTION OF GRANT PROJECT AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE AND DEVELOP OPEN SPACE UNDER THE PROVISION OF THE FEDERAL LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND ACT AND THE STATE NATURAL RESOURCE F~D WHEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act and the State Natural Resources Fund provides for the making of grants to assist local public bodies in the acquisition and development of outdoor recreation projects, and WHEREAS, the City of Roseville desires to acquire certain land known as Langton Lake Park, which land is to be held and used for permanent open space, and WHEREAS, in order for the proposed project to be eligible for approval, there must be proof that it is part of a comprehensive outdoor recreation plan and 5-year action program (capital improvement), and WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has an original (or revised) 5-year action program which includes Langton Lake Park, and WHEREAS, it is estimated that the cost of acquiring said interest(s) shall be $42,855.00, and MIEREAS, upon project approval, the City of Roseville must enter into formal grant project agreements with the State for the specific purpose of acquiring and developing Langton Lake Park. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE: 1) That an application be made to the State of Minnesota, Department of Energy and Economic Development, Parks and Recreation Grants Unit for a grant from the Natural Resource Fund (Minnesota Laws, 1983, Chapter 301, Section 31, Subdivision 5, paragraph (b)) for an amount presently estimated at $21,427.50, and the applicant will pay the balance of the cost from other funds available to it.
