LILLIAN OLSON, 955 Roselawn: I know about the deferral, but
what I'm wondering is, if we decide to sell our place, will we
have this big assessment and the interest on it that the new buyer
would have to consider.

DEMOS: You are connected.

OLSON: We are connected in the front. They said that this
assessment would go against our boys.

DEMOS: It would be on the rolls as deferred, and we said the
way its done would be a negotiable item. If the land were pro-
bably never to be developed, there would be no reason to assess
it.

OLSON: But would it show on the records? On our deed or
anything, this big assessment.

DEMOS: It would have to show that it was deferred and there
would be a reason showing why it was deferred, right Mr. Honchell?

HONCHELL: If someone requested a check on a property, it
would show as a deferred assessment without a specific date for
collection. The collection would be triggered at such time as the
property would be subdivided and needed to use the sewer. Again,
this is an item that you could negotiate with the buyer. It is
not automatic that you would have to pay that off.

OLSON: But if there is any road through it, then the place
shouldn't have an assessment against it.

HONCHELL: Well, except that it's potentially usable in the
future. When there is a potential for additional development, the
City does in the case of sewer, street, utilities and storm sewer
put it on the assessment roll, but they are deferred until
actually needed. It's a very common practice.

OLSON: Well, when the rest of us took the sewer, why didn't
the rest of them take it then also?

HONCHELL: I can't tell you that, (inaudible). It mayor may
not have been the depth, but at this point if we simply took the
corner of Victoria and Roselawn, it wouldn't be possible to serve
those homes with a gravity sewer, because the sewer is simply to
high. We need to get a location for the sewer that has enough
depth. Certain parcels and a location like that which is over on
Chatsworth have to have a deeper sewer to provide services to
the land.

DEMOS: Anyone else?
