<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant ot due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the <br /> <br /> <br />City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly <br /> <br /> <br />held in the City Hall at 2660 Civic Center Drive, Roseville, Minnesota, on <br /> <br /> <br />Monday, December 10, 1984, at 7:30 o'clock porno <br /> <br />The following members were present: Kehr, Franke, Curley, Johnson, and Demos. <br /> <br />and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member <br /> <br />Franke <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and <br /> <br />moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NOo 7671 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION MEMORIALIZING CONGRESS AND THE PRESIDENT TO <br />CONTINUE THEIR EFFORTS TO HALT THE PERSECUTION OF THE BAHA'I MINORITY IN IRAN <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Roseville, as follows: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Baha'i community and others in Iran are experiencing persecution, <br /> <br />harassment, and disappearance of family members, job discrimination, seizure of <br /> <br />bank funds, destruction of personal property and turture; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, current reports show that over two hundred Baha'is and Baha'i <br /> <br /> <br />religious leaders have been executed by the government of Iran; and <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the continued harassment and murder of Baha'is demonstrates that <br /> <br /> <br />the government of Iran has launched a conscious effort to destroy the Baha'i <br /> <br />communi ty; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the persecution of the Baha'is in Iran directly affects immediate <br />family members of three Roseville families; and <br />
