Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday,August 22,2011 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Mayor Roe announced several community workshops for the local cable commission <br /> scheduled from September 13 — 15, 2011 at various times and for various community in- <br /> terest groups. The workshops will be held at the new C-TV facility at 2670 Arthur Street <br /> in Roseville. While each workshop is geared toward specific interest groups, Mayor Roe <br /> noted that the public is welcome to attend any or all of the workshops. Additional infor- <br /> mation is available by calling the cable commission at 651/792-7575 or via their website <br /> at ctvl5.org. <br /> Mayor Roe announced that the Capitol Region Watershed District, encompassing the <br /> southeast corner of Roseville, had scheduled their annual budget hearing for August 24, <br /> 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at their office at 1410 Energy Park Drive, Suite 4. Additional informa- <br /> tion is available at 651/644-8888. <br /> Councilmember Johnson, as the newly appointed North Suburban Youth and Family Ser- <br /> vices (NYFS) representative for the City of Roseville, noted the upcoming 2011 Taste of <br /> NYFS scheduled on September 29, 2011 from 5:30 — 8:30 p.m. at the new Kay Andrews <br /> unit on Lexington Avenue N in Shoreview, MN. Councilmember Johnson noted that all <br /> proceeds from the fundraiser would go toward youth services in the area. Recognitions, Donations, Communications <br /> a. Recognition of Military Deployment of Roseville Police Officer Erin Reski <br /> On behalf of the community, Mayor Roe recognized Roseville Police Officer Ms. <br /> Erin Reski's military deployment as a Sergeant First Class in service to our coun- <br /> try, deployed on August 18, 2011, for training at Camp Ripley and then to Missis- <br /> sippi to complete the unit's training before deployment to the Middle East with <br /> the Red Bulls as a Signal Communications Technician with the Minnesota Na- <br /> tional Guard. <br /> b. Resolution Declaring National moment of Remembrance of the Tenth Anni- <br /> versary of September 11,2011 Attacks <br /> Mayor Roe noted the request by the Office of U. S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg <br /> for all units of government throughout the country to pass a resolution establish- <br /> ing a National Moment of Remembrance and observing a minute of silence at <br /> 12:00 Noon on September 11, 2011, on the tenth anniversary of the September 11, <br /> 2001 terrorist attacks. <br /> Pust moved, Johnson seconded, adoption of Resolution No. 10921, entitled, "City <br /> of Roseville Joining the National moment of Remembrance of the Tenth Anniver- <br /> sary of September 11;"as amended to correct time to Central Standard time. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: McGehee; Pust; Johnson; Willmus; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br />
