But right now the
street drains into Central park and if it rains, we don't have
any problem with it. And if it's not broke, why fix it at
$1,400.

DEMOS: There aren't any water problems?

FINDORFF: There are water problems, yes, but
the water problems aren't going to be solved by putting in a
storm sewer and changing the street. The water problems that
exist exist because there is water elsewhere. We don't have a
water problem on the street because of the slope. It's a hill
and the water on the street drains into the park. Our problem
with water comes from the land behind us and the way our
property is sloped and the soil of our property. And that's
something we're working to take care of, also at a terrific
expense. But I don't see how it's going to be solved by

putting in curbs and gutters and a new street.

riONCHELL: If you have backyard drainage

problems, you're right, this isn't intended to address your

backyard.

FINDORFF: Yeah, and that's where the water

problem is. The problem is not in the front yard and the
problem is not in the street. The water drains down the
street.

KEHR: Are you familiar with this lady's

DOUGHERT~ & SIGSTAD
