Reports /Recommendation <br />Item Description: Authorization for Addition of Air Conditioning at the Roseville <br />Gymnastics Center <br />BACKGROUND <br />The 1 999 PIP included the air conditioning of the Roseville Gymnastics Center. The city <br />C ouncil, at the January 25, 1 999 m eeting, approved the project but requested that this item <br />be funded from the Parks and Recreation Infrastructure Fund. The firm of Bonestroo <br />Rosene and Anderlik was retained to draw up the specifications for the air conditioning <br />system. A request for bids was advertised resulting in the following bids: <br />Bidd Amount <br />Northern Air conditioning co. $67,459 <br />Kumar Mechanical Inc. 83X8 <br />Northland Mechanical 86 <br />Peak Mechanical $91 r 600 <br />Alta Mechanical 9,800 <br />The consultant has reviewed the bids and recommends the lour bid. <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />This ro osal is consistent with the goal of providing the highest safety level and the best <br />p p <br />quality of service at all city facilities. <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATION <br />Monies for this project are contained in the Recreation Facilities Fund. <br />STAFF RECOMMENOLkTI <br />Based on the recommendations of the Parrs and Recreation Commission and the need to <br />insure the quality and safety at all Roseville facilities as outlined in the Parks and <br />Recreation Infrastructure Report, staff recommends the acceptance of the love hid of <br />Northern Air conditioning C of $67,459 for the installation of air conditioning at the <br />Roseville G ymnastics Center. <br />CO UNCIL. ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion authorizing the acceptance of the love bid of Northern Air Conditioning Co. of <br />$6 7,45 1 9 for the air conditioning at the Roseville Gymnastics ce nter with the moneys to be <br />taken from the Recreation Infrastructure Fund. <br />
