REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 8/28/00 Item Number: H- 2 <br /> Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br /> Hearings <br /> Item Description: Royal Orchid, Inc. dba Royal Orchid Restaurant application for On-Sale <br /> Wine and 3.2 Beer licenses at 2401 Fairview Ave. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Applications for On-Sale Wine and 3.2 Beer Licenses have been received from Royal Orchid, <br /> Inc. dba Royal Orchid Restaurant. The Police Chief has reviewed the records and finds no <br /> reason for denial of the licenses. The City Attorney will review the applications prior to the <br /> issuance of the licenses to ensure they are in order. A representative will attend the hearing to <br /> answer any questions the Council may have. <br /> FINANCIAL <br /> The revenue that is generated from the license fees collected is used to offset the cost of police <br /> compliance checks,background investigations, enforcement of liquor laws, and license <br /> administration. <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Staff is recommending the approval of the licenses for the license year ending December 3 1, <br /> 2000. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br /> Motion approving the On-Sale Wine and 3.2 Beer license for Royal Orchid, Inc. dba Royal <br /> Orchid Restaurant at 2401 Fairview Ave. for the year ending December 31,2000. <br />
