REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION DATE: 1 1-13-00 <br /> ITEM: H-4 <br /> Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br /> Hearings <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION <br /> Liquor License renewals for the year 2001 <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Staff is in the process of renewing all liquor licenses for the year 200 1. The licenses to be <br /> renewed include twenty one (21) On-Sale (maximum 30 allowed by state stature), six (6) Off- <br /> Sale (maximum of 10 allowed by City ordinance), four (4) Club, and ten (10) Wine (City <br /> ordinance or state statute do no limit the number of the last two types of licenses). The Police <br /> Chief has reviewed the records, and finds no reasons for denial of the licenses. The City <br /> Attorney will review the applications prior to the issuance of licenses to ensure they are in order. <br /> FINANCIAL <br /> The estimated revenue of$150,000 that is generated from the license fees collected is used to <br /> offset the cost of police compliance checks, background investigations, enforcement of liquor <br /> laws, and license administration. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br /> Motion approving/denying the renewal of the following liquor licenses for Calendar Year 2001 <br /> with the condition that all required application items be submitted before the licenses may be <br /> issued. <br />
