REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> DATE: 11/13/00 <br /> ITEM NO.: F-1 <br /> Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br /> \0\0 f I <br /> Item Description: Award of Cleveland Avenue Storm Sewer Improvements-City Project ST-00-20 <br /> Background: At the October 23,2000 meeting,the Council approved the Cleveland Avenue Storm <br /> Sewer Improvements Project and authorized the advertisement for bids. This project includes <br /> installation of approximately 875 feet of RCP pipe and associated storm sewer structures along the east <br /> side of Cleveland Avenue from Twin Lakes Regional Pond to Wilson Pond. The project also includes <br /> site restoration to the project area and bituminous patching and curb and gutter repair where the pipe <br /> crosses County Road C2. <br /> Bids were solicited during the first two weeks of November and were opened on Friday,November 10, <br /> 2000. The bid results will be presented to the Council at the November 13, 2000 meeting. Due to the <br /> Veteran's Day holiday, the bids were opened after the preparation of this report. <br /> Policy objectives: Based on past practice,the City Council has awarded the contract to the lowest <br /> responsible bidder. <br /> Financial implications: The engineer's estimate for the Cleveland Avenue Storm Sewer Improvements <br /> Project is $63,250.00. The total project cost is estimated to be $80,000 and will be funded from the <br /> Storm Utility Fund. <br /> RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> Approval of a resolution awarding bid for Cleveland Avenue Storm Sewer Improvements Project to the <br /> lowest responsible bidder(to be presented at the Council meeting). <br /> Prepared by: Karl Keel <br />
