On January 25, 1999, the City council approved, at the developer"s request, a 60 day extension to the review period for the concept PUD and the Comprehensive Ilan change to high density. A decision on the concept PUD or the time extension was anticipated to occur on March 27, 1999. Pastor Vern Rice and members of the Prince of Peace development team will be present at the March 22nd Council meeting to report on design progress for the adjoining Lloyd Huberty 2.09 acre single family R-1 site. A number of alternatives have been identified: 1. Detached 56 unit Senior Housing Building(original proposal)along northwest side of the church. 1.1 (from March 1 6)A tiered 56 unit senior building and townhouses located along the east and south property line. 1. (from March 16)a tiered 56 unit senior"L"shaped building located off the northwest corner of the church. 2. Attached-to-church Senior Housing along east and north side of church. 3. Townhomes(approximately 20 units)for seniors. 4. No new buildings,city purchase,add City parking space,with pathways into park.. 5. Igo nothing and allow private sector to develop Huberty property. Staff has received inquiries about subdivision for single family lots (4 to 6 lots)or rezone for town homes (12-14 units). 6. Since the 60 day review and decision deadline is March 27, 19919, (once extended at the request of the applicant), approve a 60 day extension for time to review the new alternative designs and to send selected designs back to the Planning Commission for an additional Concept PLTD land use hearing,to be scheduled for April 14, 1999. The original staff report and Planning Commission recommendation for this case is also attached. 3
