Request For City Council Action <br /> Date-, 03122/99 <br /> Item No: i-1 <br /> epart ent Approval.- Mana p.. e Agenda Section: <br /> Land Use <br /> Ite Description: PRINCE OF PEACE ALTERNATFVES FOR CONCEPT PUD (PF3049) <br /> W <br /> Background,L <br /> On January 25, 1999,the City Council approved,at the developer's request,a 60 day extension <br /> to the review Peri 9 od for the concept PUD and the Comprehensive Plan change to hi h density. <br /> 19 <br /> A decision on the concept PUD or the time extension was anticipated to occur on March 27, <br /> 1999. <br /> Pastor Vern Rice and members of the Prince of Peace development team will be present at the March <br /> 22nd Council meeting to report on design progress for the adjoining Lloyd Huberty 2.09 acre single <br /> family 1 -1 site. A number of alternatives have been identified: <br /> 1 Detached 56 unit Senior Housing Building (original proposal) along northwest side <br /> of the church. <br /> 1,1 (from March 16) A tiered 56 unit senior building and townhouses located <br /> along the east and south property line. <br /> 1.2 (from March 16) a tiered 56 unit senior"L" shaped building located off the <br /> northwest comer of the church. <br /> 2. Attached-to-church Senor Housing along east and north side of church. <br /> 3. Townhomes (approximately 20 units) for seniors. <br /> 4. No new buildings, city purchase, add City parking space, with pathways into park. <br /> 5. Do nothing and allow private sector to develop Huberty property. Staff has received <br /> 9 ` <br /> inquiries about subdivision for single family lots (4 to 6 lots) or rezone for town <br /> homes (12-14 units). <br /> 6o Since the 60 day review and decision deadline is March 27, 1999, (once extended <br /> at the request of the applicant), approve a 60 day extension for time to review the <br /> new alternative designs and to send selected designs back to the Planning <br /> Commission for an additional Concept PUD land use hearing, to be scheduled for <br /> April 14, 1999. <br /> The original staff report and Planning Commission recommendation for this case is also <br /> attached. <br />
