V
Mayor Don Wall
AV
I
Roseville Civic Center .., ,,
2660 Civic Center .Drive
Roseville, MN 55113
_%e: k.War Cub Food Store k 'I I 'j.
Dear Mayor!,
I Sincerely appreciated yoi,!Sff(61*0usness in listening, concern and advice.
It was uplifting as to what we, as a neighborhood, could possibly do.
However, after reading the Pioneer Press article by Am Baker, my heart sunk.
I realize you have no obligation to get involved in this unfortunate Bradley
Real Estate deal foisted upon us in a"looked in" neighborhood.
Pertaining to the codes and laws written after the neighborhood had already been
established, as HarMar carne after the neighborhood, I cannot but question why codes of
30 years ago cannot be updated to reflect the changes in density population.
It seems the state is constantly changing codes and laws, example: the recent
snowmobile stud law.
Any other store.occupying the former Home Place area with mall hours, even a
bingo hall, would be more acceptable. A Lund"s grocery store closing at 10 p.m.
would be a classic type we would surely patronize.
My friend, Betty Wolfangle, gave me a report from the Vista 2000 committee
that made a study and formed a vision of what is best for Roseville.
I quote the following out of context , that could easily apply to our area. "The
concentration of hydro-carbons, carbon monom'de, carbon dioxide and other airborne
particles must be measured, controlled or reduced in a symptomatit manner. Initial
research indicates that concentration of these particles and gases have caused damage
to the environment"
Source of information: Minn. Pollution Control Agency.
Research was done in reference to Hwy 36 and Snellfing, also not far from our
neighborhood. It also referred to the effector the quality of life and the enjoyment of ones
home.
Bradley Real Estate plan, with 3000 cars a day plus IL 0-1 trucks and their
emissions would be entirely unacceptable and damaging to our livelihood.
Also included M' the study was the suggestion that all new development, I would
I
apply this to Sfaadditions to a building", should be postponed until all drainage requirement
