Civic or Volunteer Activities: I have been very involved at the University of Minnesota. As one of the eleven college board presidents, I serve as one of the student body presidents at the university's Twin Cities campuses, and as the UC student body president in the university system statewide. I am founder and chairman of the Council of Presidents at the University of Minnesota. As the secretary of the Council of College Boards, I serve as one of four officers who governs the college board system at the university. I also serve as chairman of the University Student Legal Service for the'Twin Cities campus e s. I have served in the states second largest senate,the University of Minnesota Senate, as a senator, and was just appointed as one of two undergraduate student advisors to the President as a member of the President's Student Behavior Review Panel. I have served on other various boards and committees at the university. Along with all of this, I am a brown belt in karate and an assistant instructor. Please state your reasons for wanting to serve on thislthese Commission(s). I any very interested in government at all levels. I would use this appointment somewhat as an opportunity to learn about the process of government at the local level. I would also use this appointment as a way to represent the opinions of the people of Roseville. What is your view of the role of this/these Commission(s)? Planning Commission-In my view,this omrm'ssion gives citizens the opportunity to voice their opinions on planning issues that affect the commmity. It is the Planning Commissions responsibility to listen to the people and to advise the Council on these issues.
