REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> DATE: 2/22/99 <br /> ITEM No: G-3 <br /> Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br /> Item Description. Authorization For Trail Easements at Langton Lake Park <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> In 1 998, the city completed the development of Langton Labe Park. In order to complete <br /> the trail loop on the east side of the park, it was necessary to obtain two small easements <br /> from Minnesota industrial Venture LLC for the installation of a portion of the trail on their <br /> property. The easement agreement allows for the trail on the Minnesota Industrial Venture <br /> LLc property in return for a payment of 1 t oo. <br /> POLICY OBJECTIVE <br /> The easement agreement is consistent with city policy to work with adjoining <br /> property owners in providing public facilities. The proposal is also consistent <br /> with the Langton Lake Farb Master Flan. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPLICATION <br /> The cost of the easement is $1,500 (or $.27 per square foot) and is included in the <br /> construction budget. <br /> STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the proposed easement as outlined in the attached <br /> agreement. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br /> Motion authorizing the city Manager to sign the attached easements for the trail at <br /> Langton Labe Park and the payment of $1,500 to Minnesota Industrial Venture L Lc with <br /> the money to be taken from the Parks and Recreation Infrastructure Fund-Langton Labe <br /> Farb Development budget, <br />
