Staff requests approval to begin distribution to interested residents,realtors, <br /> builders and other interested parties. <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1 The City of Roseville has been participating with 13 other first ring fully developed <br /> communities on the development of the first Remodeling Planbook for over a year. <br /> Roseville committed $5,000 and staff time to the development of the Planbook which <br /> focuses on remodeling designs for cape code and rambler homes built in the 50's and 60's. <br /> 2.2 With the added support of several private sponsors the book has been printed and the <br /> Planbook is now available for purchase-by residents and other interested parties. The cost <br /> of the book is $10 for residents. <br /> 3.0 SUMMARY OF REMODELING PLANBOOK <br /> 3.1 In an effort to encourage families to stay in their communities,thereby providing stability <br /> to the schools and community, and in order to improve the existing housing, several <br /> communities,list attached,came together in 1997 to prepare a remodeling Planbook. <br /> 3.2 The Planbook features over 30 pages of great remodeling plans and ideas to help people <br /> in creating their dream house with amenities and modern systems found in newer homes. <br /> 3.3 The Planbook features remodeling ideas for ramblers with detached garages,ramblers with <br /> attached single car garages and cape cod story-and-a-half homes. T he designs help plan <br /> for additional living spaces, adding contemporary amenities within existing walls, <br /> bedroom,bath and office additions,front entry additions and garage additions. <br /> 3.4 The book provides tips for different styles of windows and roof pitches,maintenance ideas, <br /> building code considerations and landscaping ideas. In addition,there is a pocket for each <br /> community to include information on permits, contacts, housing programs, maps, etc. <br /> Roseville will include maps,a description of specific housing programs and information <br /> Planbook- RCA(02/8/99) -Page I of 2 <br />
