.I <br /> TUITION REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM <br /> The city of Roseville encourages its employees to participate its continuing education to improve job <br /> performance in their present position and to prepare for advancement within the City through self- <br /> development. To assist employees with continuing education, the city has developed the fo I lowi ng Tuition <br /> Reimbursement Program. <br /> Eli-gibility <br /> In order to qualify for the Tuition Reimbursement Program the following conditions must be met: <br /> The employee must have at least one year of service with the City with satisfactory work <br /> performance. <br /> The coursework must be related to the employee's current position or to a promotional opportunity <br /> within the city. <br /> The coursework must be taken from approved institutions of higher learning such as accredited <br /> colleges, universities} and vocational schools. <br /> The coursework mast be recommended for approval by the Department Head. Recommendations will` <br /> be based on an evaluation of the employee's ability to maintain a satisfactory level of job <br /> performance. <br /> The employee must receive a grade of "c" or higher. <br /> Benefit <br /> Employees with 1-3 years of service will be reimbursed for 75% of expenses to a maximum of <br /> $1500/year. Employees with over 3 years of service will be reimbursed 100%of expenses to a maximum <br /> of$15001year. Eligible expenses include tuition, fees} and books for the coursework requested. All <br /> expenses require appropriate documentation. <br /> Ap lication Process <br /> 1. complete the city of Roseville Application for Tuition Reimbursement form before registering for the <br /> courses. Allow enough time for the approval process to be completed. Application forms are <br /> available through Human Resources. <br /> 2. Give the fora to your Department Head for review and recommendation. <br /> 3. The Department Head will forward all requests to the Human Resources Director. The city Manager <br /> has final approval of all requests. The Human Resources Director notifies employees in writing if they <br /> are approved to participate. <br /> Reimbursement Process <br /> 1. Complete a request for payment form (available through the Finance Department)and attach the <br /> following: <br /> a copy of a statement from the school which shows the courses taken and the associated tuition <br /> and fees, <br />
