REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION DATE: 1111/99 ITEM fro: F-3 Department Approval: Manager Reviewed- Agenda Section: Reports & recommendations Item Description: Authorization to Enter into contract for Provisions of Equipment and Service on the Equipment for the Game Room at the Roseville Skating center. BACKGROUND The approved development plans for the expansion of the Roseville Skating Center include a game room. The game room will include family appropriate games. Staff advertised for vendors (see attached RFF) to supply and maintain amusement game equipment and received three proposals: Awe Vending * Jubilee Music Theisen Vending Enclosed is the analysis of the proposals submitted and the proposal from Aire Vending. POLICY OBJECTIVE The proposal is consistent with the policy of providing the hest possible service at the lowest cost to citizens and contracting out services where these goals can be met. The past history of contracting these services supports this proposal. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS The agreed upon contractual arrangements include the following- 1. R c will receive 55% of all net revenues (gross revenues minus sales tax, licensee fees and machine malfunction refunds.) 2. R c will receive 1,000 new customer incentive. 3. Awe Vending will provide all maintenance to the vending equipment. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Based on the adopted policy and stated goal of providing quality services at the lowest possible costs, and the financial proposal and experience of the vendor, staff recommends that the city eater into a contract with Awe Vending to supply and maintain amusement game equipment for the Roseville Skating center. Their selection is a result of their overall experience, type of service provided to customers, recommendations, and ability to work in a public setting and their willingness to share revenues per their proposal.
