3.10 Notices have been sent and published for a Council hearing on November 13,200 1. <br /> Certified mail notices were unclaimed and sent back to City Hall by both property <br /> owners. Notice of the abatement hearing was also posted on the site <br /> 4.0 STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br /> 4.1 Staff recommends that the Council re-approve abatement of identified City Code <br /> violations, including residing (Option 1) the structure. <br /> 5.0 SUGGESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br /> The Council must open the hearing and accept comment from the property owners and <br /> others. Formal action can be taken after the close of the hearing on November 13,2001. <br /> Council options include: <br /> 0otion A: Allow the house to remain as :i Do nothing. (Continued deterioration.) <br /> 0ution B: Cite (district court) the owner for violation of the Code. (This has been <br /> attempted in these cases, but does not resolve or fix the house immediately.) <br /> option C: Abate and immediately clean up. <br /> The staff suggests the following: <br /> By resolution, authorize the Community Development Director to abate those City Code <br /> violations identified in this report, which are still in violation as of November 13,2001, <br /> including the following and residing the house (Option 1 below): <br /> Original Estimate Actual Bid <br /> 1) Re-roof entire structure $69500 $89434 <br /> (Plus roof/deck repair) <br /> 2) Repair soffits/trim 39500 19650 <br /> 3) a.
