<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held <br />on the 24th day of June, 1985 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br />the following were absent: Franke. <br /> <br />Curley, Kehr, Johnson and Demos and <br /> <br />Member Kehr introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 7760 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO PARTICIPATE IN <br />HOME-SHARE PILOT PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Older Adult Home-Share Task Force was established in October, <br />1984 to study the need for a home-share housing program; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the study area included the jurisdictions of the White Bear Lake, <br />Roseville and North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale school districts; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the task force membership is multijurisdictional, including but <br />not limited to representatives of city government, school districts, <br />managers of seniors residences, senior health care providers and senior <br />counseling services from within the study area; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in January, 1985, the Maplewood City Council authorized $1,297 for <br />a needs assessment of which $1,249 was expended; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the results of the needs assessment indicate that approximately <br />2,500 older adults in the study area would be expected to participate in a <br />home-share program as an alternative to having to move from their homes; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, no program currently exists that can serve the estimated demand in <br />the study area; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a three-year pilot expansion of Lutheran Social Services' Share-A- <br />Home program would be the most cost-effective means of assessing the need <br />for a long-term program; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cost of administering a program for the study area from <br />January 1, 1986 to December 31, 1986 would be $11,397.00; <br />
