Recommendation On Appeal of Tree Removal order <br /> y <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Roseville City ordinance 706.07.F requires that homeowners must remove any tree that <br /> is deemed to he a health or safety hazard by the City Horticulturist as prescribed in <br /> 706.08.A. It is also prescribed that any homeowner may appeal this order under <br /> procedures described in 706.08.D. Mr. Gary Ruud, homeowner at 1032 Ruggles was <br /> notified that a tree in his yard was deemed to he dangerous because a previous branch <br /> had already fallen and the remaining portions of the tree display characteristics which the <br /> City's licensed inspector believes will likely result in having all or portions of the tray fall <br /> resulting in a dangerous situation for the homeowners and a nearby residence. <br /> Enclosed is the following information: <br /> Letter from City tree inspector requiring the removal of the tree, <br /> Letter of appeal from homeowner <br /> Background information. <br /> Recommendation from City Tree Board (Parks and Recreation ommi ss ion). <br /> POLICY OBJECTIVE <br /> The requested action is consistent with the City's Tree ordinance, accepted p rofessional <br /> practices and has been reviewed and approved by the city Attorney. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPLICATION <br /> None for the city. <br /> STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br /> Based on the recommendation of the city Tree Board, staff recommends that the resident <br /> of 1032 Ruggles, Ir. Gary Ruud, be notified that he has 30 days from August 11. 1998 to <br /> remove the designated dangerous tree from his property and if Mr. Ruud fails to comply <br /> within the 30 day period, the city will, within 10 days, order a licensed contractor to remove <br /> the tree and assess the costs to the property. <br />
