Item Description: Right-of-way Management Ordinance
ai .... ai,remrtaaouuuuumuum ...
Background: Over the past few months, the City Council has been considering the adoption of a
new ordinance that would change how the City manages right-of-ways. The current draft of the
ordinance is based on a model ordinance prepared by the League of Minnesota Cities. This
ordinance was last considered by the City Council at its Jul 1-3, 1998 meeting, at which time the
Council continued consideration to the July 27, 1998 meeting,
As past of the cable franchise review, the City has hired an outside attorney to review the proposed
cable franchise, IM F franchises and right-of-way ordinance. To allow adequate time for this review,
it is recommended that final action on the right-of-way ordinance be continued to August 10, 1998.
COMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
Motion continuing consideration of the right-of-way ordinance to August 10} 1998.
