We are planning to
add seven feat onto our existing attached garage to make it a double. Currently, we
have a single car garage and own two cars.
As you can see from the attached site plan, our lot is 103' wide with the east border,
which is the addition side, abutting a park pathway to Central Park. he rear of our
house backs up to the park.) sacking lot markers, we estimate there to be 0' or more
from the existing garage to the lot line. (Two inspectors from the city have looked at our
property and can verify thin) Adding 7' onto the existing garage would reduce the 30'
side yard to a pproxci mateiy 23'.
There is no street running east of our lot, our let is an average of 25 feet wider than most
in our area, and it appears that adding seven feet on to our garage not impact anyone.
Our neighbor to the east is nearty a full lot distance from us with her garage on our side,
and we have spoken with her about our garage plans.
We were told a month or so ago by Kim Lee that no variance would be required; that a
side yard needed a ten foot minimum. Apparently there's gray area here because we
are not on an actual street corer.
Because we believed previously that no variance was required, our building contractors
has scheduled and is waiting on this project. We hope that variance approval can be
issue'd or waived as soon as possible so that we can move forward. Thank you for your
consideration.
Sincerely,
Susan Weber
749 sextant Ave. W.
Roseville, MN 55113
(612)483-5277
