Blue Concept Comments
Get rid of Hamline Shopping Center
■ Senior housing (under$150,000, affordable) is a major issue for me. Many first owners still
live on my street and would like to live in the neighborhood as they age. The plan with a
soccer field and play area would be great!
This plan brings the community together which is very worthwhile for the whole. If it can be
connected by bike&walking paths to other areas &incorporates paths through is we pull the
area together rather than fragment it. A community center with meeting rooms (as before)
can be valuable.
■ Good plan, lot of green space— similar to previous development, needs to connect to
Han line
Plan closely resembles what most people attending 1"work session wanted
Like the park but nothing for seniors in area-leaves bad shopping center
Not interested
Access roads (or lack of) concerns me
Senior housing is needed
I am not in favor of as much recreational area as is being shown on this plan.
# I really want to keep open space!
I have several comments about needing new rec center facilitieait would be great to have it
here.
Not enough space for housing and community center
This is an excellent plan that also meets the 30+ year commitment from the city council and
the planning commission to provide a playground at the school site.
Preferred because it is the only mayor playground area available to a lot of residents in the
immediate area.
Like the park & community concept
Hopefully traffic access will be addressed
• I like the idea of a community center of whatever size&park space, but think an overall plan
connecting all the way to Hamline is good as on the green plan.
Centennial Drive remains a dead end whatever happens.
The blue one is the best of all four examples.
The blue one is the best one. It doesnt have a lot traffic and not too little. But there should
be one more way to the Arona site from the south.
Great to hear pond will be cleaned&developed
More walking trails will be great on this plan
Extra traffic will be at VERY limited times just during games-Sat or early evening only
Less desirable although none are too bad if you could combine a bit of all of them. I think
the most important thing is getting rid of the shopping center & build a nice community
center or park & rec or a combination.
Appendix A- 1 21 of28
