REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION X126/98 ITEM NOE. -3 Depa ent Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: Organizational Business Item Description: Establish date for interviews for Convention and Visitors Bureau Board. BACKG&OUND The City council has previously supported the establishment of a Roseville Convention and Visitors Bureau. The attached proposed Articles of Incorporation for the Bureau provides for a Board of Directors consisting of five voting members. The original members of the Board shall he appointed as follows: 1. The HoteVMotel Industry in the City of Roseville shall appoint two directors. 2. The City Council shall appoint one director from the General Business Community in the City. 3. The City council shall appoint one director from among its members. 4. The City Manager or the Manager's designee s hal I he an ex officio voting director. The City advertised the openings and received the following applications: General Busineas Cgrrimunity Louis Collette Jeanne Hoffer Carole Mason Kitty Rhoades Dean York H Indu ,Joel Danko Steve Schlundt John Zavada Messrs. Danko, Schlundt, and Zavada's applications will he provided to the Hotel Motel group for their use in making their appointments to the convention Bureau. The council ma y establish a date for interviewing the five applicants for the General Business representative and may want to appoint a Council Member to the Board. COUNCIL ACTIQN - QUESTEQ Motion establishing a Special Council Work Session for June�, 1998, at p.m. for the purpose of interviewing applicants for the General Business Community Representative on the Roseville convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors. Illation appointing Council Member to serge as a Director on the Roseville Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors for a term expiring the second Thursday in January, 2000.
