He proposes to construct a second garage of approximately boo s.f. <br /> (3 cars) to store collector vehicles. <br /> The staff has interpreted the Code (section 1004.01- attached) as follows: <br /> An accessory building can only be placed in the back yard of a lot and the accessory <br /> building can only occupy a maximum of 26% of the required roar yard,this amounts <br /> to 25 of the area contained within the 30 foot required rear yard setback atimes"the <br /> lot width(normally 80 to 85 fed). <br /> For example: 30'a 85'=210550 s,f, <br /> 2,550 sJ.x.25=638 s.f.bldg. <br /> Tharafora, bawd on the staff interpretation, a normal lot could have an accessory <br /> building no larger than 638 s.f.. <br /> 1.4 Mr. Heffe <br /> rrran believes this Code interpretation is too restrictive and additional <br /> building square s and s footage of accessory buildings should be allowed.
