CONISULTING ENGINEERS PHONFE 612-671-2500
FAX 612-571-1168
ULTEIG ENGINEERS, INC.
5201 EAST A!V€FI ROAD.SU[TE 308 MINNEAPOLIS,MN 55421
u
March 5,, 1998
The Honorable Mayor and City Council
City of Roseville
20 Civic Center Drive
Roseville,, NT 55113
e: ply lication for unitary Sewer Easement Vacation/Grant of New Easement
Old Dutch Foods Expansion Project
Dear Mayor and Council:
Dutch Foods Inc. is in the process of planning an expansion f their production 1k
Old I l
facility as
indicated on the attached sketch. The property required for this expansion has
been purchased and is being combined with property currently utilized for production
facilities by separate action. A City-owned sanitary sewer crosses the new property,
p towing
from cast to wrest. The sewer lies in an easement held by the City. Please refer
to the attached sketch.
The existing h istin sanity sewer will require relocation for the expansion project. This request
vacate the existing easement and grant a near easement to the City to allow the
is to
sanitary sewer to be relocated. The new easement description and sketch is attached.
Old
Dutch will use the area above the suer and within the easement for parking or open
space.
The easement area w111 be accessible for maintenance of the sanitary sewer. The
relocation of the suer is feasible from an engineering standpoint. The now design will
comply with City Standards for sanitary sewers.
This request has been reviewed with the City Engineering Department. A concern was
.
regarding the stormwater drainage patterns on the site. The proposed expansion
raised rega g
will"'cut off' the current flow pattern of runoff from the parking and roof. A storm sewer
will be
constructed to accommodate this drainage. The storm sewer system will consist
of Inlets on O property Old Dutch e flowing and a storm sewer pipe owing north to an existing trunk
storm
sower on Rose Place. An easement for this sewer will be required from the
roe owner. Issues related to this sewer include the capacity of the Dose
neighboring p p '
Place
storm sewer, and the manner of crossing Rose Place(a new street)with the pipe.
