Curti, Carolyn
From:
Sent: Sunday, July 21,2002 10:56 PM
T o: Carolyn.Curti @ci.roseville.mn.us
Subject: Community Center
Hello Carolyn,
Just letting you know my opinion a building a new
community center for Roseville. I think it would be a
waste of money. I saw the article in the Roseville Wrap
where it mentioned the things that could be included in
a community center.
Why would we need a fitness center? We have the YMCA up
on Lexington, Bally's on Rice St., Curves on Lexington
and Lifetime on Fait-view. We also have exercise classes
at the Fait-view Community Center, including swimming.
Why do we need another place to exercise?
We have meeting rooms at the Fairview Community Center
and the Library. Why do we need another community
center for that?
Why would we need a performing arts theater when we have
a perfectly good theater at the high school? Sounds so
frivolous and unnecessary.
The last I heard, the Oval is still not self-
supporting. Why do we want to spend more money on a
building we do not need and the taxpayers will be stuck
paying for?
I don't know whose idea this was but I think it's
utterly RIDICULOUS!!! Makes me wonder if there are some
federal funds we will lose if we don't spend them. If
this is the case, let them go. The country is deep in
debt. We don't need another community center. Please
show some fiscal responsibility. Roseville taxes are
high enough!
Please pass this message onto anyone at city hall that
would be interested in a Roseville homeowners opinion.
Thank you,
Susan Anderson
