WORK SESSION AGENDA ITEM N0. 4-E
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL DISCUSSIONIDIRECTION
DATE: 2117198
ITEM NO:
e Koval: Manager Approval: Agenda Section.
Na j *
ftefn ascription: CITY CENTER CONCEPTS AND FORMAT FOR
DISCUSSIONS
1.0 Bac Amund
Direction is sought from the Council on a meeting format that would help
identify the concept for the City Center and who might participate and
contribute to the discussion.
In 1994 the Comprehensive Plan identified the City Center Master Plan as
a key element to the overall design of Lexington and County Road "C" land
uses. The Metro Council staff had reviewed the city's comprehensive plan
and found that the City Center Concept Master Plan was one of the tasks
fisted as an "implementation strategy". Consequently, in December, X997
the Council and staff received notice that Roseville had been selected to
receive a $6,500 matching grant from the Metropolitan Council for planning
of the City Center site.
The staff has been preparing some background information for a meeting
where a professional facilitator (perhaps a consulting planner and/or
architect) would join the Council. The purpose of the meeting is to develop
"program" with a full range of possibilities that could occur on each of the
four corneas at Lexington and County Road "C".
Council Direction SoLight.w
Direction on the format and timing of the City Center planning meetings.
Attachment:
Report by: Dennis Welsch, 490-2232
M:ICOMPPLANICITYCENT.DDC
