Manager Agenda Section: <br /> Consent Agenda <br /> Item Description: City Manager's Compensation. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The City Council has held annual performance reviews with the City Manager since 1990. <br /> The Manager's last pay increase was a 3 percent adjustment on January 1, 1993. <br /> POLICY OBJECTIVES <br /> The City's general compensation objectives are as follows; <br /> Internal Equity the salary structure corresponds to the level responsibility <br /> associated with the position. <br /> Market Fate the salary is competitive with the market data for similar positions <br /> in comparable organizations. <br /> Pay For Performance (exempt positions)—the amount of salary increase is <br /> consistent with the staff member's performance. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br /> Any salary increase would be funded from the Contingency Account. <br /> COUNCIL ACTION REQUEST D <br /> Motion approving increasing the City Manager's salary to w retroactive to <br /> January, 1998, for service during the years of 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, and 1998. <br />
