U R T. Since June, 1997, the James Addition Neighborhood <br /> Task Force has been studying the future of the neighborhood, its land use and <br /> traffic, and environment. Chairperson Craig Christenson: and members of the Task <br /> Force will submit their final report and recommendations to the Planning <br /> Commission on December 10, +1 997 and to the City Council on December 15, 1 997. <br /> moratorium on commercial and industrial development is in effect until January <br /> 11 1 998 to allow for the completion of the study and any actions by the City Council. <br /> The Council may choose to extend the moratorium for 30 to 60 days to complete <br /> the recommendations of the Task Force. <br /> 2,0 BACMROUND. <br /> 2.1 See the attached report and recommendations from the Task Force, prepared by <br /> Craig Christenson. <br /> 2.2 The Neighborhood Task Force seeks support from the Planning Commission and <br /> Council to begin comprehensive plan revisions for their neighborhood, including a <br /> land use map change from business to high density residential for the south east <br /> corner (6.2 acres) of the neig hborhood O Ultimately, changes in the comprehensive <br /> Ian and maps would require a change in the zoning of the 6.2 acre site to a <br /> residential P la n ned unit development (PUD). There also would be changes in the <br /> public infrastructure including road alignments and widths, pathway creeds and <br /> locations, and other quality of life improvements to the residential neighborhood. <br /> A series of public hearings would be required. <br />
