Economic Development and elo m # of Ethics <br /> Adopt Economic Development and Redevelopment Code of Ethics - (January 1998 <br /> December, 1998) <br /> A code of ethics will be adopted by the Coalition for the purpose of coordinating economic <br /> development and redevelopment activities and opportunities. <br /> 5. Economic Development and Redgyrlopment <br /> Strategies and recommendations fro addressing these questions will be developed as part of <br /> Comprehensive Livable Community Transportation and Land Use Study Phase I Track I. <br /> The following economic development and redevelopment questions were discussed by the Community <br /> Development Committee: <br /> Do we individually and collectively want to achieve future economic growth? <br /> What is driving growth in the sub-region? <br /> How can Coalition members maintain growth? <br /> What tools are working? <br /> What are constituent gaups doing to drive development and/or redevelopment? <br /> What bind of growth do Coalition members want? oMition? <br /> What are threats to growth? <br /> Why are developers participating and other not participating in the sub-region? <br /> What development/redevelopment specialties can be focused on to give members a competitive <br /> advantage? <br /> How can community develop "outcomes"'around growth and redevelopment? <br /> Who are risk tapers in development and redevelopment in the metropolitan region? How can <br /> Coalition interest these"risk takers" to invest in Corridor communities? <br /> What are the templates of development and redevelopment that are working here? Elsewhere? <br /> What businesses are moving into our corunities? Are they the businesses that we want? Can <br /> individual communities or the Coalition do anything about it? <br /> What are the linkages between marketing and the benefits of corridor locations..... <br /> Should the Coalition develop standards for development and redevelopment? <br /> • What key economic data should be collected, e.g.}household income, etc.? <br /> • How does each member community perceive itself from a development and redevelopment point of <br /> view? <br /> • How can individual members and the Coalition promote its advantages? <br /> 6.
