The <br /> recommendation of the.Livable Communities Advisory Committee and staff is to award ten <br /> grants totaling $3,980,350, and carry over the remaining $119,650 tot 998. <br /> PREVIOUS ACTIONS: The Metropolitan Livable Communities Act authorizes the council to <br /> make loans and grants to communities participating in the Local Housing Incentives Program: <br /> under the Livable Communities Act. Following a public comment period, the Community <br /> Development Committee reviewed, and the council approved, the1997 program guidelines, <br /> criteria and schedule on May 1 , 1997. The Livable communities Advisory Committee has <br /> evaluated 22 applications received in the 1997 application cycle against the program evaluation <br /> criteria, which include innovation and creativity, replicability, partnerships, and promoting <br /> regional policy and the regional growth strategy. on November 18, the Committee <br /> recommended the ten projects listed in the recommendation, with the listed conditions. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: 1). That the Metropolitan council award $3,,980,3 50 in grants to ten <br /> projects for the Livable communities Demonstration Program, with the listed conditions. <br /> # Valley Square Area E M i ed-use Redevelopment, Golden Valley, $ 51 0,000. <br /> 1455 corridor Coalition, 1 31,250.
