LAVA LINKS MODIFIED EXPANSION As a result of the Roseville City Council action at the 9/27/93 meeting, denying Lava Links Special Permits to expand our existing space by 4100 square feet to include over eighty coin operated amusements, Lava Unks hereby request that the Roseville City Council reconsider a remised expansion request to include the following: 4. The elimination of the 2400 sq.ft. of coin operated amusement games currently used as an indoor golf driving range. Future Activity Center to include: basketball,volleyball, badminton, and a golf driving range. 2. The addition of 1740 sq.ft. of adjacent spice to be used for up to 36 coin operated amusement games and private party rentals. This change represents a reduction of 45 games from our original vaguest and adds only 20 games to our current license requirements (see enclosed plan depicting this space). 3. Somewhat enlarged food options and space. Lava Links will further agree to provide the following security provisions: a} Lana Links employees shall wear uniforms. b) One professional uniformed security guard shall be hired from 7:00 pm until closing on Friday and Saturday evenings to ensure control of customers. c) Weekday school hour truancy checks shall be conducted on any suspected school-age customers during school operational hours. d) Roseville City Police shall approve, security measures. Lava Links further agrees to increase ongoing security measures as needed with complete police involvement and approval. e) Lana Links management requests any information from the Roseville City Police which indicates any disturbances which might in any way be associated with the operation of the lava links Family Amusement Center, Lana Links ownership pledges to resole any and III such disturbances to the best of our ability including the possible use of off-duty police officers and/or the elimination of certain amusements suspected of attracting disruptive behavior. fl Customer loitering will not be tolerated in or around Lava Links. As a part of our presentation at the action hearing of this proposal on the December 13, 1993 Council meeting, we will submit the anticipated amusement games for item number 2 above. Lava Links notified eC' concerned residential property owners and irnited them to an open house meeting held on Dumber 2nd (see attached meeting summary). L aa% 4::rks has recently celebrated its two year anniversary of operations. We have established a good r6pu}v,.,-)n with our customers and the community. There has-been no need for any police involvement in daeE�-og with any di sturbance associated with our business. We do nat expect any significant change in the type of clientele we currently serve. R is our expectation that these changes will result in a more attractive business for the variety of ages and interests of our customers, which in turn will provide a stronger financial return making this a viable enterprise for our landlord and our ownership.
