November 5, 1993 <br /> To whom it may concern: <br /> This request for a variance is necessary in order to build a three <br /> season porch and small deck to replace an existing large deck. The <br /> existing deck had deteriorated to the point that it was no longer safe to <br /> use. The new project will be constructed to include a whirlpool bath that <br /> will be used to relieve the aches and pains of -arthritis, and have a glassed <br /> enclosure to provide use during more of each year. <br /> Because our house was constructed with every part of the house <br /> facing Wheeler Street except the front door (which faces Shorewood <br /> Curve) the house is closer to what is considered the back yard lot lire <br /> than it should be. The new porch and deck is designed to actually be <br /> farther away from that lot line than the existing deck. The variance is <br /> necessary because of the unusual way the house was originally <br /> constructed. <br />
